Inspired by the epic events of the beloved Tolkien books, The King’s Gambit puts you in command of a sprawling battle fought across multiple fronts. While the forces of Mordor descend upon Minas Tirith, the Rohirrim arrive on The Pelennor Fields. Elsewhere, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli fight their way through Pelargir, trying to bring reinforcements. And all the while, Frodo and Samwise continue their desperate journey through Mordor. The King’s Gambit brings these pivotal moments together into one enormous tabletop experience.
Each player must divide their attention across multiple battlefronts, playing cards strategically, rolling dice, and making difficult decisions about where to commit their forces and when to take risks. A victory on one front can create new opportunities elsewhere, but leaving another battlefield undefended could have devastating consequences.
Each game is filled with tough choices and tension as you manage multiple locations at once, creating unforgettable moments in one of the most epic fantasy settings of all time.

We wanted our deluxe editions of the game to capture the large scale of the conflict in Middle-earth the moment you put it on the table. That meant going beyond just cards and cardboard. Both editions offered in our campaign feature upgraded components, over 150 detailed sculpted miniatures, and towering plastic three-dimensional representations of Minas Tirith and Mordor, standing at opposite ends of the play area and transforming your table into a battlefield worthy of Middle-earth. And these aren’t just eye candy - they’re playable regions integrated into the game play. And, of course, the game features gorgeous full color illustrations of your favorite characters and moments from the books.
We’re throwing everything we can at this campaign and have broken it down to just two pledge levels: Limited Edition or the ultimate Mithril Edition.
Both games will feature the 3D structures and larger gameboards, but the Mithril Edition includes bonus miniatures, upgraded dice, upgraded tokens, custom card sleeves and racks, card foil treatments, and more!
