Unmatched Tournament Descriptions and Registration for PAX Unplugged 2024
Roster
32 players will compete in a Swiss event, playing 2 proposed 1v1 games per round. At event start, players will register their roster of 4 fighters. Each round, they propose 2 of their own fighters to face each other. The matchup played will be randomly selected for game 1, the winner of that game scoring 1 point. The game 1 winner will choose game 2’s matchup from the two matchups of the player who did not have their matchup chosen in game 1. Game 2 is worth 2 points and wins the round.
All participants receive a foil card, with increasing prizes for winning rounds, culminating in the champion receiving 4 foils, 4 packs of sleeves, a gold hero mini, and the Witcher bundle of Steel and Silver, Realms Fall, and the promo bathtub Geralt mini.
Players must bring 4 fighters. Maps provided. Rules knowledge required. Ages 9+
2 vs 2
32 players will compete in 16 teams of 2, in a Swiss event, playing 1 game each round. At the start of the event, each team of 2 players will register their roster of 6 fighters to share. Each round, the teams will ban 1 fighter from the opposing team’s roster and then select the 2 characters they will play. Teams score 1 point for eliminating an opponent’s character. Eliminating both heroes wins the round.
Players must bring a roster of 6 fighters. Maps provided. Knowledge of rules required. Ages 9+
All participants receive a foil card, with increasing prizes for winning rounds, culminating in each player on the champion team receiving 4 foils, 4 packs of sleeves, a 4-pack of Boost Cubes, and a gold hero mini.
Conscript
32 players will compete in a single elimination, 1v1 event, playing 1 game each round, over 4 rounds. Players will each receive 2 characters to play at the start of the event. At the end of each round, the winner will discard their winning character and take all of their opponent’s characters, adding them to their own roster, before choosing 3 characters from that roster to take into the next round.
All materials provided. Knowledge of rules required. Ages 9+
All participants receive a foil card, champion receives 4 packs of sleeves and an additional foil card, runner up receives 4 packs of sleeves.
